Alvija, 2de van rechts op de foto hierboven, die een van de 20 Litouwse deelnemers was aan het eerste Litouwenproject, schrijft me:
I live in London and work for the Railway infrastructure projects as a Commercial Manager. Some of my projects are below:
2007 – 2012 Stratford upgrade projects for 2012 Olympics including the very first Batching Plant Rail road, LVON (Lea Valley on Networks) and DLR6 (Docklands Light Railway – the conversion of existing rail infrastructure to DLR and the formation of a new DLR link for 2012 Olympic Games).
2012 – 2016 Thameslink project where VolkerRail, on behalf of Siemens, installed and commissioned a fully integrated and interlocked depot signalling system at the newly developed train care depot, in Hornsey and Three Bridges.
2016 – 2018 4LM (Four Lines Modernisation) according to Thales “The world’s biggest project of its kind”. 4LM is a project to upgrade the signalling systems of four London Underground’s most important railway lines: Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan. Between them they account for 40% of the Underground’s traffic.
I am also running a Lithuanina nursery and School for Lithuanians in London for 11 years now. This is my passion as I always was paaionate about education. I have graduated Vilnius Univerity Applied Physics (where I obtained my Teachers qulification too), and also gained my Masters in Commercial Management at London South Bank Univerity. I was elected this year as a chair of Education Commitee for the World Lithuanian Community so have lots of on my hands.
