Piet Devriendt, oud-leerling begin jaren tachtig, is de baas van het bekende Blankenbergse restaurant DE OESTERPUT. Hij is de vader van Pieter Devriendt (oud-ll. 2009)

Piet Devriendt, uitbater van de Oesterput in Blankenberge, kookt donderdag en vrijdag voor honderd mensen in een Belgisch restaurant in Dubai. Dat gebeurt tijdens de wereldtentoonstelling Expo 2020 in Atelier B van landgenoot Yves Bas. “Er komen hier heel wat Belgen over de vloer”, klinkt het.
Overigens, ook in de didactische keuken van het Maerlant-atheneum wordt wel eens kreeft gekookt…
